The USB-A female sockets can be used to replace the old socket on your devices or in other USB enabled projects. They're also great for prototyping if your project requires USB connectivity since the pinout fits perfectly most of the perfboards, but you will need a small modification for the support pins. You can either drill 2 holes for the support posts, or fold them out of the way, or cut them off completely.
